Applies pitch and mounts cloth pads on surface of metal laps I used for polishing lens surfaces: Heats metal laps over gas flame. Rubs bar of pitch or pours molten pitch on heated lap surface and positions cloth pad on lap. Places cup-shaped holder of same curve as lap over cloth pad and clamps assembly in bench press until pitch sets. May apply pad or remove old pad, using knife.
