Tends machines that weld ends of wire together to form continuous coil and draw wire through dies to reduce wire to specified diameter: Lifts reels of wire onto spindle of floor stand, manually, or using hoist. Welds ends of wire together, using welding machine. Smooths weld to diameter of wire, using abrasive cloth. Threads wire around tension rollers, and through reducing dies, and fastens end of wire to spindle. Starts machine that draws wire through dies and around takeup reel. May verify diameter of drawn wire, using micrometer. May record production.
