Performs minor repairs to salvage parts, such as cutting out and replacing defective areas, using variety of handtools and work aids. Dusts finished goods with powder, talc, or soapstone to prevent sticking during storage and shipping. Examines goods for obvious defects and imperfections and verifies weight and dimensions of goods, using fixed gauges and scales. Sorts, counts, or marks goods by size, grade, color, or salvageability. Bundles and packs goods in containers for shipping. Washes or cleans adhering stock, grease, dust and foreign matter from machines and equipment with water, solvents, or other cleaning compounds, using rags, brushes, and air or steam hoses.
