"The spirit, the will to win, and the will to excel are the things that endure. These qualities are so much more important than the events that occur." Vince Lombardi

Gary Chesky established his reputation on the football field. Considered one of the best centers ever to play at Hartford High, Gary was named to the prestigious New Haven Register All-State Team in 1957, considered the highest award that can be bestowed on a Connecticut high school football player.

Gary, who played both ways at center, on offense and on defense, was also named to the All-Capitol District Conference team in 1957. Fans still talk about his game-saving tackles against East Hartford and in the Thanksgiving Day game against Weaver. His ability to rise to the occasion brought frequent praise from Coach Ralph Worth.

Gary continued his studies at Central Connecticut State University, graduating in 1994. He is Director of Property Image at the Foxwoods Casino, a prominent benefactor of the Hartford Public High School. Gary also serves as president of the Westerly/Pawcatuck Chamber of Commerce.
